Written for the stage in 1910 in the form of a Medieval Mystery play, it was the first in an intended series of seven plays which were interrupted by the First World War, The Portal of Initiation was the first Rosicrucian drama to reveal the purpose of existence as a path of evolution.

Rudolf Steiner wrote eleven scenes including portraits of seventeen characters whose interwoven lives carry and implicate their own and each other’s destinies, as related to their counterparts, unfolding stories of truly epic proportion about all that meets us through daily striving in life. Encouragement in dark times, hope for the future, Portal is a revelation for contemporary audiences as much now as when it was first written.

A full length play, two and a half hour experience of color and sound, movement and music, this production of The Portal of Initiation is a world premier for Worldstage Theatre & Co.
